This project examines the historic visual culture of the timber industry. The typographic forms were inspired by log marks, early trademarks hammered into the ends of logs to prove ownership. As with many folk art forms, the painted saw blade was used as a canvas when it lost its function; it is a memorial to lost value and a kitsch curiosity.
