I was selected to design the Cranbrook Academy of Art degree show catalog. In collaboration with Nicole Killian we developed the Out of the Woods concept, a play on the campus setting -- literally in the woods -- and the degree exhibition location in downtown Detroit, as well as the reputation of Cranbrook for developing artists and designers with unique and alternative perspectives.
The design combined a plaid pattern overlaid by photographs of the campus which transformed into the urban landscape of Detroit. The artists' pages were laid out cleanly to emphasize the artwork. We collaborated with each of the ten departments to create a group portrait that embodied the personality of the graduating classes.
